Focused on the works themselves, Rodin et Michel-Ange, le chant des statues stages the dialogue between two giants of sculpture, through which these two artists of genius compete, three centuries apart, to breathe life into their representations of the human body. While allowing us to see sculpture as rarely before, Jérôme Prieur’s film lets us hear the voice of Michelangelo, the voice of Rodin, the voice of those who were their first spectators. The statues, before our eyes today, remain haunted by these voices from the past.
