In 1961, the ANC, an organization for the defense of civil rights, facing an increasingly repressive government, turned to armed struggle with the creation of uMkhonto weSizwe (MK), led by Nelson Mandela and made up of young black, Indian and white revolutionaries. Director Osvalde Lewat reveals Mandela as the leader of a guerrilla army, and pays tribute to the forgotten heroes who held the ideal of human emancipation so dear that they sacrificed their lives to free their country from racial oppression.
